Anthony was still stuck on deciding what he was going to do. He had tagged along to the last New Directions meeting, as Kurt and Blaine had told him he could do. And, to his own surprise he had enjoyed himself. He had found himself humming along, and on one occasion he had even sang a little through the chorus along with the other’s, which had really surprised him. It was the first time he had actually sang in public, with other people in the same room, for about three years now.
But, he still wasn’t sure that he was prepared to actually join them. For one thing, he wasn’t sure he could deal with having to audition in front of everyone. He let out a small groan. Why couldn’t he have been born with the same amount of confidence his brothers had. Then he’d have no problem auditioning. Hell, he’d probably relish the chance to be in the spotlight. But, he was the black sheep of the family. He loved to perform. He just had a horrible case of stage fright.
He let out a small sign. He walked the halls of McKinley, wondering what he was going to do. He eventually found himself at The April Rhodes Civic Pavilion. He smiled. He always managed to end up here when he had a free period. Obviously his genes wanted him to perform. He wandered down the raked seating, trailing his hands over the velvet seating. This place was certainly better furnished than his old school. Most of the chairs there were falling apart.
He got to the front, and sat on the stage, his legs dangling into the orchestra pit, he couldn’t help himself. He dashed backstage, pulled his iPod out and plugged it into the speakers. He chose the track he needed, and then headed back out to the stage. He sat back to where he was, and waited for the music to kick in, and when it did, so did his voice.“It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word, you can light up the dark
Try as I may, I can never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best (say it best)
When you say nothing at all
All day long, I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near, you drown out the crowd
Try as they may, they could never define
What's been said between your heart and mine
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best (say it best)
When you say nothing at all
Oh
The smile on your face lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best (say it best)
When you say nothing at all
(You say it best when you say nothing at all
You say it best when you say nothing at all)
That smile on your face
The truth in your eyes
The touch of your hand
Lets me know that you need me
(You say it best when you say nothing at all
You say it best when you say nothing at all)”
