After being assigned an essay, Rachel was more than happy to be working with Kurt on this one. They were best friends, and it was definitely better for them both. Neither would have to do more work than the other, and they'd do equal amounts of work. Also, more than likely, they wouldn't argue during the time they were supposed to be studying. They'd set it up so that they'd both switch between whose house they were going to work at. Tonight, it was Rachel's they were working. As Rachel couldn't drive yet, Kurt was driving. He didn't need her telling him where her house was -- he had been there more than enough times by now. It usually took about half an hour to get to her house from McKinley, but it seemed like a lot shorter, due the conversations they had. Well, if you could call it that. Kurt realy didn't say much, but Rachel felt like she said enough for both of them. Maybe that was why he didn't speak. Oh well, they could talk properly when they got back in the house. After Kurt pulls up in the drive, Rachel unclips her seatbelt, and rushes to the door, unlocking it. Her parents probably weren't home right now -- they rarely were, but Blaine more than likely was. Though, Rachel didn't know where he would be. Assuming him to be in his room, Rachel places one foot on the bottom step and shouts up "Blaine, that's me home now!"
Looking behind her, Rachel frowns a little, seeing that Kurt was taking his time getting in the house. "Kuurrttt! Hurry uuuppp~" She whines impatiently. She looks at Kurt, frowning a little when seeing him shake his head and laughing "Calm it Rachel, I'm coming just now" He says, walking into the house, closing the door behind him. Beaming at him, Rachel grabs his wrist, and drags him into the living room, not bothering to check if Blaine was there or not before she takes out her books, stacking them up on the table in front of her, preparing herself for them to start working. NOTES: Not great, but hopefully it'll do ^^ I'll probably just switch between Kurt and Rach here...depending on who the post is more focused on ^^[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Blaine was glad to have the house to himself as soon as he got home. Well. To himself apart from the animals, but Blaine didn't count them. He was just happy his parents weren't anywhere to be seen. Don't get him wrong, he loved them and all, but he was just really feeling like some peace and quiet. Well. As much peace and quiet he could gain with a cat and a dog rampaging about the house. Blaine didn't really know what he was expecting anyway, they never seemed to be in. They always had some big thing with their friends, or their colleagues, and a favourite excuse of theirs, 'work was calling'. Damn work. Why did they care so much? Blaine really thought it was no secret at all that they put work before him and Rachel, their own children, and in their case? Water was definitely thicker than blood. In fact, he was pretty sure the pets were some kind of substitute for their parents, and Blaine had no idea how that worked, but to be honest, he wasn't complaining. He loved Buddy. He was actually there for him all the time, one of the very few constant things in his life, and really? He was pretty awesome to talk to when Blaine needed to get something off his chest and didn't trust his younger, very loud sister with it. Anshel? Yeah. Not so much. Rachel's damn cat hated him with a passion, and as soon as Blaine stepped through the door? He was ambushed by that minion of the anti-christ before it ran off upstairs again. Cursing under his breath, Blaine frowned as he headed into the living room, not really having anything in particular he wanted to do.
Blaine sat for what he was pretty sure was the most of half an hour before he decided to be productive, getting his Calculus book out of his bag and spreading his notes over the table, flicking through last lesson's, just generally studying. He had an upcoming test, this was probably doing him some good, actually. Blaine didn't look up when he heard the door, knowing full well it would be Rachel and neither his mother or his father. Blaine, that's me home now!
Raising an eyebrow at just how loud Rachel was, Blaine shook his head, continuing to flick through his book. Kuurrttt! Hurry uuuppp~ Frowning a little to himself, Blaine carefully looked through the scattered notes on the table, trying to find what was relevant to the work he needed. Kurt? He didn't know who Kurt was. He figured he'd soon find out, though. Calm it Rachel, I'm coming just now. Blaine couldn't help but chuckle softly to himself. Yep. That sounded about right. He barely had time to register what was happening before Rachel was stacking books on top of his notes on the table, though, and he looked up at her with a slight smile playing across his lips. " No need to shout, Rach, I'm right here. " Looking across at her books, he frowned slightly, giving a sigh as he placed his Calculus book to one side. " I guess that's my studying done, huh? " Trying to salvage what notes he could from underneath his sister's books, Blaine frowned in question to himself. " Say, who's this Kurt? " Actually glancing across at her for the first time since she'd arrived, Blaine's expression softened to almost blank as soon as he saw the boy she was with. His skin was pale, extremely so, contrasting with the beautifully styled chestnut hair on top of his head, bright blue-grey eyes looking down at him as he stared up. Swallowing back, he looked down at his lap for a few moments, taking a subtle deep breath before smiling up at the boy. " I'm guessing he's you. " WORDS : Idkkk. The house was pretty crazy with both Buddy and Anshel running around. But Rachel didn't mind much -- she loved them both. Obviously, Anshel got extra love and care because, after all, she was Rachel's cat. Anshel really was just a dear -- she was always purring, rubbing against her leg, and wouldn't never leave Rachel alone when she was in the house -- Rachel loved her a hell of a lot. Though, sadly, neither Anshel or Blaine seemed to be very fond of each other. Rachel had tried, and failed to get them on good terms. It just didn't seem like it was going to happen at all.
"No need to shout, Rach, I'm right here."
. Hearing that Blaine's voice had came from the living room, Rachel raises her eyebrows a little, looking up at him before smiling brightly "Oh, hey, Blaine!". Seeing Blaine frowning slightly, Rachel raises her eyebrow, tilting her head slightly in confusion. "I guess that's my studying done, huh?". Furrowing her brow slightly, Rachel looks down "What are you --". Noticing that she'd placed her books on top of Blaine's notes, Rachel laughs softly, blushing a little. "Sorry about that. Here". She lifts her books up slightly, letting Blaine get his notes out from beneath them. "Say, who's this Kurt?" Rachel frowns a little, when she looks up at Blaine again. "You know who Kurt is...He's my best friend". Okay, so maybe they hadn't met before, but Rachel was sure that she must have mentioned Kurt at least once before to Blaine? When Blaine finally looks across at her, Rachel shots him a grin, before it falls, seeing Blaine's expression turn blank pretty much. Looking behind her, Rachel turns to see what he was looking at, before chuckling, realizing that it was only Kurt....who was pretty much staring right at Blaine. Rachel was positive that she could throw one of her books at her friend and he wouldn't react at all. But she wouldn't do that. That would just be mean. Hearing Blaine take a breath, Rachel turns her attention away from Kurt, and back to Blaine. "I'm guessing he's you.". After Blaine spoke, Kurt finally decides to move and takes his seat next to Blaine. "That would be me". Hearing that her friends voice was slightly airer that usual, Rachel raises her eyebrows at him in question slightly, before chuckling softly. "Kurt, this is Blaine. As you know, he's my brother.". She then looks back at Blaine. "Blaine this is Kurt" WORDS: 415 MUSE: NONE TAGS: KURT / BLAINE! NOTES: Alrighty :D Also, omg. Having lived with Rachel for sixteen years, Blaine had grown at least some immunity to her volume and half disregard for everyone else, but there was always room for surprise when it came to Rachel. Blaine loved her, of course. She was his little sister. No-one messed with her without him getting a say, and he'd never do anything to hurt her. At least, not on purpose. Oh, hey, Blaine!
Laughing softly, Blaine shook his head, grinning to himself as he tugged another note out from under her books. What are you -- Looking up at her slightly, he smiled brightly at her blush, raising an eyebrow as he waited for her to realize what she'd done. Sorry about that. Here. Shaking his head, Blaine smiled as he retrieved his notes from under Rachel's books, gathering them in a neat pile. " It's fine, don't worry. " Reaching over for his Calculus book, Blaine tucked the notes into a random page, happy to see they stuck out, so he wouldn't forget where they were. You know who Kurt is...He's my best friend. Frowning a little, Blaine put his book down and tried to remember who Kurt was, because by the sound of Rachel's voice, he should at least know of him. To be honest, nothing came to mind. Rachel told him a lot. A lot. It was hard to keep track of everything she said, so with an apologetic look, he glanced up at her. " Sorry.. isn't ringing any bells. " It turned out, however, that Kurt, Rachel's best friend, was extremely gorgeous. Extremely. It was hard not to stare at him, once Blaine had noticed he was there, and maybe it had just been his imagination, but Kurt seemed to be staring back. Quickly snapping out of his trance, he smiled softly, watching with slight alarm as Kurt sat down right next to him. That would be me. Swallowing back a little, Blaine cleared his mind of all previous thoughts, just trying to forget that there was a piece of absolute sex sitting barely five inches away from him, looking up at his sister with a smile instead. Kurt, this is Blaine. As you know, he's my brother. Risking a glance over at Kurt, Blaine smiled softly in greeting, trying not to get too lost in his eyes. Blaine this is Kurt. Trying to figure out whether to opt for a handshake, Blaine decided against it, quickly coming to the realization that any form of contact would be bad. " Nice to meet you. " He said, simply, with a smile, before looking over at Rachel. " Do you two need me to scoot upstairs? " WORDS : Idkkk. Blaine was probably the only person who was truly used to her...loudness. Kurt had an idea about it as well, but Rachel usually dialled it back down whenever she was with him. Though, a lot of people had experienced the side of her that put herself first — Kurt and Blaine both being victims of that — but she always felt awful afterwards. Not many people let her back in, and after a while, Rachel did feel like giving up. But with Blaine and Kurt? She wouldn't back down. She loved them both too much — especially Blaine. He was pretty much just everything to her. "It's fine, don't worry."
Rachel just smiles at him, waiting for Blaine to sort out his books into a pile, before she places the books back on the table. Seeing Blaine frowning, Rachel raises her eyebrows a little, leaning forwards slightly to try and figure out what he was thinking. "Sorry.. isn't ringing any bells". Rachel opens her mouth, about to protest, before Kurt cuts her off. "Well, I am shocked, Rachel Berry. I thought you would have mentioned me to your brother. Apparently not". She frowns at Kurt slightly when he walks past, thinking for a few moments that he was being serious. Then, remembering that it was Kurt he was more than likely being sarcastic. "I have mentioned you before! He must have just...forgotten." She says slowly, looking between them both. "You've probably not noticed, but I do tend to speak a lot" After she finishes speaking, Rachel hears Kurt making a noise, which sounds like he's trying to suppress a laugh. Raising her eyebrows, Rachel turns her attention back to Blaine. Who... was acting a little strangely, and come to think of it... Kurt was as well. Giving a slight shrug, Rachel doesn't think too much of it, deciding that she was just thinking too much. Picking up her books, deciding what to work on first, Rachel just catches them both exchanging smiles. Smiling softly to herself, Rachel buries her head deeper in her book. "Nice to meet you" Hearing Blaine speaking again, Rachel glances up at him, before back at Kurt, who'd now extended his hand out to Blaine. "Nice to meet you, too" Oh, good. They were getting on. Rachel was going to be honest — she was slightly paranoid that Kurt and Blaine would be glaring at each other, and she was more than happy that they were being civil towards one another. "Do you two need me to scoot upstairs?" Rachel gives a small "Hmm?", not really hearing him. "It's fine, you can stay". She raises her eyebrow, giving Kurt a look that just says "Really?", before turning back to Blaine "I don't mind, you can leave or stay if you want to.". Kurt hadn't seen Blaine before. Sure, he'd seen some photos of him when he was younger with Rachel, but that was it. He just... He was not at all expecting Blaine to be that ... unbelievably gorgeous. Kurt considered asking Rachel why she didn't bother to tell him this, then realized that Blaine was Rachel's brother. She wasn't exactly going to tell one of her friends how attractive he was. Hell, Kurt didn't even know if Blaine was gay or not. Rachel didn't talk about Blaine an awful lot. Most of the time, whenever she did talk about him, Rachel was complaining in some way. Pretty much like how Kurt did with Finn. But yeah, Blaine was incredibly hot, and Kurt would be lying if he said he didn't want to get to know the other boy better, and instead of taking his usual seat at the other end of Rachel, Kurt sits right next to Blaine, trying not to get too distracted by the other boy next to him. Seeing Rachel burying her face further into her book after she introduced them to each other, Kurt raises his eyebrows slightly, before returning his gaze primarily on Blaine again. ""Nice to meet you"
Clearing his throat ever so slightly, Kurt lifts his hand, extending it out to Blaine, smiling slightly further "Nice to meet you, too" Kurt wasn't trying to pay attention to how excited he was about the possible chance that he was actually going to have some physical contact with Blaine without him trying to do so subtly. It was just...exciting to him, somehow. "Do you two need me to scoot upstairs?". Before Rachel could respond -- which, despite how fast the girl spoke at times, was actually fairly easy as she didn't hear him right away -- Kurt spoke up "It's fine, you can stay.". Catching the "Really?" look Rachel was giving him, Kurt just shrugs, laughing softly. ""I don't mind, you can leave or stay if you want to.". Oh, thank God. He didn't have to go through any awkwardness with trying to convince Rachel otherwise. Because if either her or Blaine had found out that Kurt thought that Blaine was just pretty much sex on a stick? Things would get incredibly awkward incredibly fast, and Kurt really didn't think he would be able to come over to Rachel's house again. WORDS: 393 MUSE: NONE TAGS: RACHEL / BLAINE! Blaine felt bad for not really knowing who Kurt was, but to be honest, it was kind of hard to digest what Rachel told him most of the time. He'd learnt to keep up with her for the most part, but then it just got.. completely rapid and he had no idea whatsoever. He was getting better, though. Improving all the time. Well, I am shocked, Rachel Berry. I thought you would have mentioned me to your brother. Apparently not.
Blaine raised an eyebrow slightly, surprised at how sarcastic Kurt had been. Well. He could only imagine how much fun Kurt had trying to get her to shut up when she was talking a mile a minute. I have mentioned you before! He must have just...forgotten. Nodding a little to back her up, Blaine smiled softly, placing his books aside in a neat pile. Hell, if it wasn't a right angle, it was a wrong angle. You've probably not noticed, but I do tend to speak a lot. Giving a slight laugh which turned into a cough, Blaine shook his head, smiling up at her. " I've noticed, Rach. It's fine. Just a little hard to take it all in sometimes, that's all. You probably have mentioned him before. " Though Blaine was fully aware that Rachel was loud and tended to forget just how fast she could speak and how much she could say, Blaine loved her all the same. She was his sister. And to Blaine? Family was very, very important. Turning his head back to glance at his books, Blaine noticed that Kurt was sitting close. Very close. In fact, close enough that if he moved, even just a tiny bit, their thighs would brush together and Blaine suddenly became very, very still. Because that would be a bad thing. Nice to meet you, too. Smiling softly, Blaine expected that to be that, but no. Kurt was now extending his hand out, and Blaine swallowed lightly. Turning his body so he could shake Kurt's hand properly, exactly what he'd been trying to avoid happened, and their thighs rubbed together softly, causing a shiver to run all the way through Blaine's body. Trying to disguise it as best as he could, he gently took Kurt's hand, another million ripples of excitement coursing through his body. No. This just wasn't okay. Smiling a little, he shook Kurt's hand before letting it go, sitting back and just trying to cool his body down. Since when did it become so hot in there? It's fine, you can stay. Surprised, at both how Kurt had managed to answer first and how he'd actually answered, Blaine looked a little dazed as he glanced over at Rachel. I don't mind, you can leave or stay if you want to. Nodding slowly, Blaine tried to process his thoughts, before he managed a smile. " Thanks. I'll just.. stay here. Buddy won't leave me alone if I go upstairs. I'll be quiet, just act as if I'm not here. " Reaching over for his books, Blaine resumed the work he was doing before, ignoring the urge to look up and glance over at Kurt. WORDS : Idkkk. Seeing Blaine raising his eyebrows, seemingly in shock, after Kurt had spoken, Kurt just smiles over at him softly, before trying not to stare at Blaine for too long, knowing that Rachel would totally freak out, and it would probably just...make Blaine incredibly uneasy. Yeah, it was probably best he didn't stare for too long, but Kurt was still going to steal a few glances. He couldn't help it. "I've noticed, Rach. It's fine. Just a little hard to take it all in sometimes, that's all. You probably have mentioned him before"
. He looks over at Blaine when he speaks, giggling softly, and just barely manages to catch onto what Rachel said, even though it wasn't even said that fast. "I have. I'm surprised it hasn't been embedded in your mind I've spoken about him that much" Kurt just nods in response to what Rachel said, not really able to respond lately after realizing just how close he was to Blaine right now, so close that their thighs would rub together if they moved the slightest bit. Well, Kurt was definitely going to use this for his advantage at some point. After shaking Blaine's hand, their thighs brushed together, and was almost enough to make Kurt just pass out right there. "Thanks. I'll just.. stay here. Buddy won't leave me alone if I go upstairs. I'll be quiet, just act as if I'm not here." Kurt, nods, chuckling softly before turning his body to face Rachel's, supressing a shiver when their thighs brushed again. When he did so, Rachel went on a huge speech about their work, one that was spoken so fast that it was just a garbled mess to Kurt. Though, he wasn't sure if that was because of Rachel, or because Blaine was right there. Occasionally, Kurt would look up at Blaine for a few moments, trying to be as discreet as possible before he looked back over at Rachel. WORDS: 324 MUSE: NONE TAGS: RACHEL / BLAINE! Blaine just sat and tried to continue with his work as before, but to him? The words on the page weren't words at all. They were a jumbled up mess, and even when he could make them out, they went straight in one ear and out the other. Blaine wasn't retaining any information at all, and his studying certainly wasn't being done. He tried extremely hard not to look up and glance over at Kurt, but he found his gaze wandering from time to time. Mostly, he was pretty sure Kurt didn't notice. But then it happened, and hell, oh god, Blaine didn't know what to do. Their gazes locked - they'd both been trying to steal a glance at the same time - and Blaine found he couldn't pull away. He just gazed at this boy in front of him, this angel, taking in the colour of his eyes and just how beautiful he was, his lips slowly parting until he had to flick his tongue out to wet them. Blaine was pretty sure he was freaking Kurt out, but he just couldn't pull away. He couldn't. That was, probably fortunately, when Anshel decided to attack, leaping at Blaine and throwing him off guard as he cursed under his breath, breaking eye contact and squirming to get away from the little devil, scowling after her as she ran away. " Rachel! Please control your ball of hell! "
He frowned, pointing after his sister's cat, not totally aware of the fact his squirming had caused him to move even closer to Kurt, thighs pressed together and shoulders brushing. It was going to be so hard to actually get any work done tonight, Kurt knew it. Even if Blaine did leave them at any point, Kurt knew he'd spend the rest of the night thinking about him. He knew that thinking about his best friend's older brother like this probably wasn't a good idea, but really... Kurt really couldn't help it at all. Blaine was hot. Extremely so, almost to the point where it wasn't even fair. Kurt was surprised that he'd been discreet about his glances over at Blaine. Rachel wouldn't have left him alone for the rest of his life about it, and Kurt didn't know how Blaine would react, but he could only guess that he probably would've made the older boy feel incredibly awkward about the whole thing. But then...holy shit. Their gazes locked. Kurt was finding it impossible to break away from the gaze. Blaine's eyes..Kurt hadn't seen anything like it before. It was some kind of...hazel-y gold colour. Kurt didn't really know. But god damn it, it was beautiful. Catching Blaine's lips parting, Kurt glances down, his breath hitching slightly when Blaine's tongue runs over them. It was almost impossible for Kurt to not just... surge forward and kiss Blaine right there and then. But no.. It wouldn't be right, at all. Despite it being impossible to fight the temptation. Although, even if Kurt did start to lean in? He couldn't, as Rachel's cat, Anshel appeared seemingly out of nowhere, and attacks Blaine, leaping up at him, causing Blaine to squirm away, and Kurt remains still, hoping that Rachel's devil cat wouldn't attack him as well. Huh.. Didn't Rachel say that Anshel was a sweet cat? "Rachel! Please control your ball of hell!"
Rachel breathes out an exasperated sigh, and stands up, and picks up Anshel. "You're over-reacting! She's a sweetie." Rachel coos over the little fluff ball, tickling her chin before turning to look at him and Blaine again "I'll go put her in my room just now, then.". Kurt looks at her in disbelief. "Your cat's a devil beast!". Rachel just waves him off, before running upstairs, to put the cat away. It was then, that Kurt had become aware that his thigh was now pressed against Blaine's, and their shoulders were brushing after Blaine had squirmed away from Anshel. Huh. Maybe Anshel wasn't so bad after all. Taking a subtle breath, Kurt brings his hands up to rest on his knees, sighing when feeling their shoulders brush more, and slowly inches his hand closer to Blaine's knee.
