Anthony had just relocated from Italy to America, and he had started in his Sophomore year. He currently didn't have any classes, and was stuck on what to do. Round about this time, he would usually just head on over to the schools library and just curl up on one of the chairs and read a book, or sit at one of the tables and do his homework. But he didn't currently have any homework, and in his rush to leave the house this morning, he had forgotten to grab his book. So now he was stuck for options, and was just wondering around the hallways.
He headed down the stairs, where he came across a room he hadn't seen yet. A plague over the top read, The Aprill Rhodes Civic Pavillian. He pushed open the door to reveal a large auditorium. He breathed out in amazement. The Auditorium at his old school hadn't been any where near as big as this. He walked to the front, and stepped onto the stage, and grabbed the microphone. He looked around to make sure that nobody was here, before taking a deep breath.
Step one you say we need to talk He walks you say sit down it's just a talk He smiles politely back at you You stare politely right on through Some sort of window to your right As he goes left and you stay right Between the lines of fear and blame And you begin to wonder why you came Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life Let him know that you know best Cause after all you do know best Try to slip past his defense Without granting innocence Lay down a list of what is wrong The things you've told him all along And pray to God, he hears you And pray to God, he hears you Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life As he begins to raise his voice You lower yours and grant him one last choice Drive until you lose the road Or break with the ones you've followed He will do one of two things He will admit to everything Or he'll say he's just not the same And you begin to wonder why you came Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life How to save a life How to save a life Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life How to save a life How to save a life
He finished the song, and breathed out. He enjoyed singing, but always froze up when he got up on stage, which was strange considering his family. An ex west-end star for a mother, a casting agent for a father, and two brothers in performing arts schools, but for some reason every time he got up on a stage in front of people, he just froze. As he put the microphone back in the stand, he heard clapping coming from the front row.

It was a new year, and a certain Rachel Berry was determined to make her senior year as great as it could even possibly be. She was going to try everything that she could to get to get to NYADA, preferably with Kurt. She understood that Kurt probably wanted to wait for Blaine to finish school before he left, but Rachel would just head out to New York and arrange to meet up with Kurt and Blaine once they got there.
To make sure she wasn't too rusty, Rachel headed to the auditorium, but she froze at the door seeing that there was someone else there. It was someone that she didn't know, and Rachel wondered what he was doing there. He then began to sing 'Step one you say we need to talk/ He walks you say sit down it's just a talk/ He smiles politely back at you/ You stare politely right on through/ Some sort of window to your right/ As he goes left and you stay right/ Between the lines of fear and blame /And you begin to wonder why you came/ Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend/ Somewhere along in the bitterness/ And I would have stayed up with you all night/ Had I known how to save a life/ Let him know that you know best/Cause after all you do know best/ Try to slip past his defense/ Without granting innocence/ Lay down a list of what is wrong/ The things you've told him all along/ And pray to God, he hears you/ And pray to God, he hears you/ Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend/ Somewhere along in the bitterness/ And I would have stayed up with you all night/ Had I known how to save a life/ As he begins to raise his voice/ You lower yours and grant him one last choice/ Drive until you lose the road/ Or break with the ones you've followed/ He will do one of two things/ He will admit to everything/ Or he'll say he's just not the same/ And you begin to wonder why you came/ Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend/ Somewhere along in the bitterness/ And I would have stayed up with you all night/ Had I known how to save a life/ Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend/ Somewhere along in the bitterness/ And I would have stayed up with you all night/ Had I known how to save a life/ How to save a life/ How to save a life/ Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend/ Somewhere along in the bitterness/ And I would have stayed up with you all night/ Had I known how to save a life/ Where did I go wrong, I lost a friend/ Somewhere along in the bitterness/ And I would have stayed up with you all night/ Had I known how to save a life/ How to save a life/ How to save a life' [/i] During the song, she began to slowly walk down the stairs and into the front. Rachel had to admit -- the guy could sing. At first, Rachel felt threatened. But she didn't want to let it control her. She remembered all too well what happened with Sunshine and she didn't want a repeat of that. Instead, she clapped and said quickly 'That was amazing. Have you ever considered ever joining the New Directions? It's our Glee club here. We aren't as big or popular as Vocal Adrenaline, but I like to think that we are just as talented, if not more.'[/blockquote] Words: 604 Muse: None Notes None[/size][/justify]

As the last note of his song faded away, the clapping became louder, and he suddenly became aware of the other person standing in the room. Unfortunatly for him, his stage fright then caught up him, which was then accompanined by the usual dry mouth and sweaty hands. It was strange. He came from a family of actors and actresses, but when it was his turn to public perform, he froze up. The first, and only time, he had had to perform in public, he had almost fainted on stage, but his parents were adament that he was just a late starter, and refused to give up on him, which wasn't helped by the fact that he was now the only child left in the family.
'That was amazing. Have you ever considered ever joining the New Directions? It's our Glee club here. We aren't as big or popular as Vocal Adrenaline, but I like to think that we are just as talented, if not more.' Before he could even answer, he had to run over what she had said in his head a couple of times, just to make sure he had understood her. He didn't even think it was possible for someone to talk that fast. When he was sure that he knew what she had said, he gave his reply, "Glee club." He shook his head, before sitting on the edge of the stage, and continuing, "Sorry, but I've got a massive case of stage fright. I don't sing in public."

Rachel looked briefly confused. Why did this boy seem so nervous upon realizing she was there? Unless, he knew her from her performances with the New Directions? That did seem to make sense. After all, he was using their stage. She shook her head, and slightly raised her hands 'I know it's pretty daunting being in the presence of someone as talented as myself, but don't worry. You'll get used to it pretty quickly, most of the school has. Though, a lot of them deal with being around me by giving me a slushie to the face...' She trailed off a little as she finished speaking. Rachel then shot another bright smile at him before joining him on the stage.
It took the new boy a time to reply. Rachel had an idea why. She had a habit of talking fast, which left people looking confused whenever they were with her, and they had to think about what she said. Though, this only ever happened with the arts, or anything to rise her ambition...which was almost everything that left her mouth.'Glee club'
[/i] She grinned Yeah! It's fun! Singing and swaying in the background can be fun! A lot people disagree, but they're wrong' She said, trying to control her talking pace. 'Sorry, but I've got a massive case of stage fright. I don't sing in public.' The smile that was on Rachel's face fadded, and she frowned slightly 'B-but this is public -- and on a stage. You just performed in front of me'[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size] WORDS: 258 MUSE: NONE TAGS: Anthony NOTES: NONE[/justify]

As the stage fright set in, the girl seemed to be thinking of reasons why he had suddenly become nervous and withdrawn. If you thought about it logically, it was quite obvious why. Quite a few people enjoyed singing in private, but cringed at the thought of singing in public. He was one such person. But her reason was no-where close. 'I know it's pretty daunting being in the presence of someone as talented as myself, but don't worry. You'll get used to it pretty quickly, most of the school has. Though, a lot of them deal with being around me by giving me a slushie to the face... Sure that's the only reason. He thought to himself, but he didn't voice this. He wasn't that rude.
Yeah! It's fun! Singing and swaying in the background can be fun! A lot people disagree, but they're wrong' Anthony had to agree with her on this point, Glee Club did sound like fun, but he wasn't sure if he'd actually be able to join or not. When he told her about his stage fright, her smile just dropped, and was quickly replaced by a frown. 'B-but this is public -- and on a stage. You just performed in front of me' Damn. She had him there. But in all fairness, he hadn't been expecting anyone to be here. Still, it didn't explain why he'd chosen a stage instead of an empty room, or the choir room. He turned to her and said, "To be honest, I don't what came over me. I don't sing usually" which was a half-truth. He only ever sang when he was at home, and his parents weren't in, which was quite often, due to their demanding jobs.

Rachel knew that people thought she was irritating, though she saw that it was more of just her being lively and upbeat. And honest. Not many people were honest nowadays, and if they were, they were usually the brutal kind, like Kurt. Rachel liked to think she was one of the nice honest people. Even though she was long used to being told that she was irritating, it did still sting a little.
'To be honest, I don't what came over me. I don't sing usually'
[/i] Rachel smiled softly, and slightly tilted her head 'I actually wouldn't have guessed. Now, if you really do have problems singing, what I was told to do, well...the other people in my singing class as they weren't as advanced as I was, and what they did was close their eyes when they were singing. You know, it helped them block out the other people in the room.'[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] WORDS: 154 TAGS: ANTHONY MUSE: "HEAVEN" CRAIG COULTON (or whatever his name is.
